Best Brownies

1 stick margarine (1/2 cup)
1 cup sugar
4 eggs (well beaten)
1 – 16 oz can chocolate syrup
1 cup presifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream margarine and sugar. Add well beaten eggs and mix well for 2 minutes. Gradually add the chocolate syrup, flour, baking soda, vanilla and nuts (optional). Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and frost with the following:

Frosting:

1 1/2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons margarine
6 tablespoons milk
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Put sugar, margarine and milk in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly, boil for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Beat with an electric mixer until thick enough to spread on cooled brownies.
