Dream Bars 2

6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
2 tablespoons evaporated milk
1 cup flour
1 egg
1 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)(chopped)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

1. Cream together the butter, brown sugar and milk until light and fluffy.

2. Gradually add the flour, scraping the bowl often.

3. Spread smoothly in an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan.

4. Bake for 15 minutes.

5. Beat the egg until foamy then cream in the brown sugar, salt and coconut until the batter is lighter in color.

6. Stir in the nuts.

7. Spread over the baked layer and bake 25 minutes or until the top is light brown.

8. Cool and cut into bars.*

*If you want a thicker bar double the recipe.
