Glazed Cinnamon Bars
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 egg (separated)
pinch of salt
1 3/4 cup flour
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 to 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly greased 15 x 10 inch pan.
1. In a large bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and salt. Beat until creamy.
2. Stir in the flour and cinnamon. Mix well.
3. Spread batter, it will be thick, into prepared pan.
4. Beat egg white until foamy.
5. Stir in powdered sugar.
6. Brush sugar mixture over batter.
7. Sprinkle with walnuts
8. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
9. While still hot cut into squares (about 48 bars).
10. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
