1/2 pound chopped (or ground) beef
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 can tomato paste
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper seeds
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 large can plum tomatoes
salt to taste
In a large pan fry the chopped (or ground beef), drain off excess fat. In a saucepan heat the olive oil then add the mushrooms, garlic, pepper seeds and the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Add the tomatoes and simmer over a very low flame for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the tomato paste and blend well, add salt. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes more stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. The longer this cooks the better the flavor. Keep hot over lowest flame until ready to serve. Serve over spaghetti or any type of macaroni. Serves about 6 to 8
