Pumpkin Delight

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 9 inch pan.

Cake:

1 package yellow cake mix (take out 1 cup, you'll use it in the topping)
1/2 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1 egg

Mix well the cake mix, butter and egg. Pat into prepared 9x9 inch pan.

Filling:

1 large can pumpkin
2 eggs
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

Put all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well, scrape bowl often. Pour over the cake mix mixture you patted into the cake pan.

Topping:

1 cup of the reserved cake mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)(chopped)

Now put all these ingredients in a large bowl and mix until well blended. Sprinkle over the filling. You are ready to bake this, finally.

Bake for 60 minutes (1 hour) or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
