1 large carrot chopped
3 onions chopped
3 - 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced (should equal 4 cups)
2 tablespoons uncooked rice
2 heaping tablespoons uncooked macaroni
1 teaspoon salt
1 pint cream or milk and butter
Cook the chopped carrot in a kettle of rapidly boiling water. While this is cooking chop the onions and potatoes then add them, the rice, macaroni and salt to the kettle with the carrots. Add enough water to just cover the ingredients then cook until the ingredients are tender. When you are ready to serve add the cream or the milk/butter, reheat but do not boil. Serve very hot with toast or crackers.
