Sour Cream Frosting
1 cup sour cream
1 cup white sugar
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped fine)
1. Boil sour cream and sugar in a saucepan until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water (about 242 degrees on a candy thermometer).
2. Set the frosting in a pan of cold water until cool.
3. Beat with an electric mixer until creamy then add the salt, vanilla and walnuts.
Makes enough frosting for an 8 inch layer cake or a 9 x 13 inch cake.
