Spicy Baked Apples
4 apples, cored
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup walnuts (chopped)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. Remove skin a third of the way down from the top of apples. This keeps the
apple from splitting.
2. Place apples in an 8 inch round baking pan, use cooking spray.
3. In a bowl combine the raisins, walnuts, sugar and butter, mix well.
4. Stuff into center of apples.
5. Combine lemon juice, water, cinnamon and nutmeg; pour over and around apples.
6. Bake uncovered in preheated oven for about one hour or until apples are
tender.
7. Baste every 15 minutes.
